There is one change to the starting side that beat Ireland in round four, with Elliot Daly restored to the wing. Elsewhere, Manu Tuilagi is included in an England match day 23 for the first time since the 2023 Rugby World Cup Bronze Final in Paris, and Ethan Roots returns to the bench.

Silverware at last
Was it a dream? Did Gloucs really lift their first trophy for nine years in beating Tigers 23-13 in the Premiership Rugby Cup in front of a packed Kingsholm? If they did most of the rest of the world seems to have turned their back including Alamy who provide photos for SportNetwork, the BBC website and the Times Online website.

Renshaw and the Red Ball
Matt Renshaw returns to Taunton as the last piece of the jigsaw for Somerset's start to the 2024 season. The Aussie will return for the first 7 CC games which take place before the end of May. Somerset start in Kent in less than a month - but who will Matt be walking out with?

On the Brink
And so we move into February. The first game against Kent is in about 6 weeks and it is time to turn towards the 2024 season - our thirtieth season of coverage though most of my records go back to the early 2000 swhen we moved from Rivals Net to Sportnetwork and the present format location. We've come some way since then. Any changes since we last looked at the summer prospects?

What's in store in '24? The early view - Red Ball
With just over 100 days before the season starts and a couple of weeks before Christmas it's a decent time to talk about what may be available for the 2024 Championship campaign. It has been pretty quiet from Taunton about international plans etc and the only real announcement is a change in club leadership as Tom Abell steps down as club skipper to concentrate on his game after 7 years of being in charge. So what do we presently have? What are we presently short of?

Match Thread: Wolves vs Fulham FC
Following Wolves disappointing but perhaps not surprising downfall at Newcastle last Saturday, they return to Molineux today to welcome Fulham FC - the team lying two places below them in the Premiership who have been on a good run, winning three of their last four games, including a well deserved victory at Old Trafford.

Joining us soon?
It seems we are not going down, and not going up. As season tickets get renewed it's time to look at who will be with us in League 2 next season, albeit nothing is decided just yet.

Saudi Arabian GP: Frustrating race for Williams Racing
In what was a frustrating race for a variety of reasons the Williams Racing Team would see Alex Albon finish in 11th and Logan Sargeant 15th. For Alex the early stages of the race would see him make a good start but after a Safety Car period he was badly blocked by another driver and in the process would suffer damage to his car. Despite this he was able to continue in the race and pass several cars but could not get past a Haas driver in his chase for 10th place. For Logan his race would see him run just a few places behind Alex with but later in the race he wuld struggle with tyre degredation higher than expected. Despite the frustrations the race still had it's positives the main being the fact that the team is slowly but surely unlocking the pace in the FW46.

Saudi Arabian GP: Mixed qualifying for Williams Racing
Qualifying for the 2024 Saudi Arabian GP would be a session that would see the Williams Racing Team come away with mixed results with Alex Albon finishing 12th and Logan Sargeant 19th. For Logan his session would be hampered by the fact that after hiting the barrier he would fail to get any running in FP3 which had a direct impact of his qualifying performance. For Logan he felt that his second qualifying run was impacted by traffic seeing him struggle in his tyre preparation. But it was frustrating as he felt his car was capabale of Q2. For Alex he was able to refine his tyre preparation and get through into Q2 and futher improve things in Q2 resulting in what was a result that Alex was overall happy with. Both drivers are happy with their race pace so are hopeful of achieving results in Saturday's race.

Both Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant would be positive after their sessions with both saying that the FW46 felt good right from the first moment with the pair finishing 14th and 16th with Alex leading. The team will continue to improve the car making changes overnight aiming to move to the top of the midfield teams come qualifying.
