I'm looking forward to it all restarting, but if this is anything to go by:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/53362990

(and this is just to finish last seasons premiership...) it's going to be really grueling. I'm assuming that clubs will effectively need two full teams much like a Lions tour, with spares to cover injuries. Not a bad thing for lots of academy and junior players to get more competitive game time, but I'm guessing there will be a lot of coaches/managers crossing their fingers and hoping not to get too many injuries in the same position.

Yes, you would hope common sense around registering loan props was used.

Excited to see regular games, and the whole squad being used though.

grauniad!

Quote:
Englandís leading players face the prospect of an endless winter with competitive top-level fixtures scheduled for 52 consecutive weekends once the Premiership season restarts on 14 August with Saleís visit to Harlequins.
Premiership Rugby have confirmed the 2020-21 campaign will commence on 21 November with England also hoping to play internationals on each of the preceding four weekends, including a fixture within 24 hours of the rescheduled Premiership final on 24 October.

With the final Test of the 2021 Lions series in South Africa in the diary for 7 August and the 2021-22 season kicking off six weeks later, every calendar month for the next two years is filling up.

But it is good to hear that player welfare is a priority still!!!

The players made their priority pretty clear when the RPA voted to oppose further pay cuts.
You can't have it both ways, we play games to make money to pay the players. They want the money, and that's fine by me, but they need to play the games to earn it.

As a fan I am happy to admit I'm delighted to have games on every weekend!

I must have missed that! When did the RPA vote on opposition to further pay cuts?

So after all the talk of player welfare being their primary concern from clubs, unions, RPA and World Rugby, all sides have thrown it out of the window at the first opportunity

On the plus side Eddie Jones is no longer subjecting "his" players to ninja-shark wrestling so you have some vague hope of getting your Internationals back in one piece sometime in late March (having had them for about 6 games before then)

In normal season's I'd rather have mid week matches than clashes with internationals.

Well that's good . At least it's "incumbent"

I don't really know what the alternative is?

It's dead easy to be cynical and "pro player welfare" but the players have been clear they want dosh, reddies, cash moolah. That means playing games.

To be frank I've grown sick of these guys whinging about everything. I just want to watch games. If you don't want to play then sod off and the guys that are willing to play will reap the rewards.

Except their employers want them to play more, for less money. If your employer told you that you were going to have to do that, wouldn't you be irked at the least?

They are not gladiators in the Coliseum for your amusement.
