Euro Cups - Round 1

Glos go from dodgy scrum one week to poor lineout the next? Itís a bit like plugging a leaky bucket up there at the moment it seems... Cips doesnít seem to have found the form of last season yet, but is it the lack of good forwards platform?

Very impressive away win by the lot from Devon.

Clermont have some huge guys who can run like the wind!

Mike Brown just smashes elbow to Bendy's head in a tackle, but nothing deemed wrong.....

Sarries, the B version, got thumped 30-10 against Racing 92 where Finn Russell gave a demo of how to play at 10!

It helps playing 10 in a team where you are so crushingly dominant pretty much everywhere on the pitch.

It also helps that you are the most talented 10 in the northern hemisphere. The only number one choice for the Lions tour

Didnít help them much in Japan... Incredibly talented guy who sees and does some great things but also has his days as a liability as these mercurial types often do. Listening to Gatland on the RUW podcast Farrell is a shoe-in and Hogg was the only one he could mention from Scotland.

Playing for Racing seems to definitely suit him.

I particularly enjoyed Benjamin Kaiser's commentary on the Rassing v Sarries game. The phrase "absolute shambles" just tripped off his tongue. I wonder where he learned that one smiling smiley

... IMHO, of course.

Now in Honolulu

Eye wateringly expensive as well. Both currently on (well) over £1/2m if reports are to be believed.

No problem, Bruce is starting a UK translation service company, set up so you get paid 5 years in the future and the contract is written in invisible ink!

On the RUW podcast this week Danny Care says he asked Yato at the end of the weekends game whether he wants to join Quins. Yato just laughed at him... The French lifestyle and money seems to hold a certain appeal!

I also note that CA have 69 listed squad members. When you go through the list their depth of talent is incroyable.

How often do they get to play in the same team and do they try too hard to impress when their turn comes? Swings and roundabouts.

One of their players is Max Lahiff. So is he at Bristol or Clermont?

I think that he was supposed to go there for the RWC but didn't pass the medical?

Joe Worsley is also listed as a player!

I reckon Joe Worsley spends his time hanging around the Farleigh Spa car park, forever waiting to rush out and chop Jamie Roberts down as he heads for his Land Rover. He's probably like one of those Japanese soldiers who weren't told the war is over so are still fighting it to this day.
