That CVC deal sounds rather unimpressive, just over 10 million a year for a short period to kill off rugby on TV for the next generation.

Agreed. But they're in a very weak negotiating position. It's either that or semi-pro rugby in the Prem next season.

TBH rugby union is probably a semi-pro proposition worldwide as things stand.
