@Mike , Perez is not a pay driver.He belongs to the group of drivers who bring in sponsors like Alonso, JB for some time or Bottas.These drivers don't need cash to justify their place in F1.

@Andreas, totally off the mark.We're talking about pay drivers in a specific team.

I'd say you're wrong mate. Perez would have never gotten the seat at Sauber in the first place if Carlos Slim didn't pinch in. He got his McLaren seat just because of this as well. Force India was happy to pick him up due to his money and did everything in their power to keep him onboard ever since. Even if that meant; kicking a Mercedes protege out who was driving for free.
Perez is a paydriver. No matter how you sugar coat it.

I agree that Perez deserves his spot, but he would not have had it without monstrous backing in the first place.
