Next one to two weeks are critical. Europa, Champions League, Euro qualifiers, Euro 2020, Olympics, even domestic leagues are at risk. The very first case UK case demonstrated the problem, the chap who went to Brighton via Singapore, French Alps and Majorca - all the way along he was infective but didn’t display any symptoms. Of course, not every situation is the same.
Will we even get to play Olympiakos?

It's in the balance Ivy, typical the most interesting season in years coincides with a dirty old beheaded bat on a wuhan stall destroying the entertainment ( if you subscribe to the non biological weapon side of the argument).

Predictable but gutting for the 1,000 + who have tickets. Not sure how this will work for reclaiming flights and accommodation ..... hopefully tickets should be straight forward.

From what I have seen on TV recently, unless the FCO advise against visiting a country then people won't be able to claim the cost of airfares etc back Ivy. Looks like their best bet is to still travel and have a break there without attending the match!!

Reports that Wolves have requested the Olympiakos match to be postponed. This is because the Olympiakos owner has been diagnosed with Coronavirus. This chap also owns Nottingham Forest and attended their match last Friday.

I'm starting to see a scenario whereby the Premier League is postponed indefinitely and we continue the current season post-Euro 2020. That's if the summer tournament can even go ahead, considering it will involve thousands of fans moving all across Europe, including Italy, from game to game.

The club have now confirmed that their request to postpone the gane has been rejected and the game will be going ahead behind closed doors. I hope our players and staff stay safe and I hope their players have avoided infection too.

Meanwhile the Manchester City v Arsenal match has been postponed as a precaution because the Olympiakos and Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, attended the Arsenal v Olympiakos fixtures.
It’s being reported that the Olympiakos players have all tested negative for Covid-19. Not sure about all staff at the club.

Article from the BBC this morning
Wolves say their Europa League last-16 first-leg match at Olympiakos is an "unnecessary risk" after Uefa rejected their request to postpone the game.
The match in Greece on Thursday will be played behind closed doors because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Wolves said they respect the decision by European football's governing body and will travel to Greece on Wednesday to take part in the fixture.
"There are some things that are more important than football," they added.
"The good health of our pack and the general public is one of them.
"Our position is that the trip poses an unnecessary risks to our players, staff, supporters and the families of all who travel, at such critical and uncertain times."
Nottingham Forest and Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis has tested positive for coronavirus.
"Our concern is also for our opponents, whose players and staff have today been tested, and will now be expected to play their part in an important fixture, under the difficult and challenging circumstances of their owner suffering with the virus," added Wolves.
The Greek government announced on Sunday that all professional sports events for the next two weeks will be played without spectators.
On Monday, Uefa confirmed it was the case for this fixture. Wolves had sold 1,000 tickets for the match.
"There is also disappointment that the match will be played without home and away supporters, as that is part of what makes European competition so special," said Wolves.
"We hope that our request to Uefa, and our acceptance of their decision, can act as the catalyst for them to consider alternative options moving forwards, as this will not be the last fixture to be affected by coronavirus."

Just announced, it’s official, UEFA has suspended all Champions League and Europa Cup matches.
At least 24 hours too late, but at least a decision has been made. We now await a similar decision from English football authorities.

Probably the correct decision but I, selfishly, feel that it has sucked the promise out of our season.
Hopefully we can carry on where we left off when the decision is made to resume.
Take care everyone.

UEFA have postponed the Euros until next year and the Europa League final has a new date of June 24th. Unlikely I would have thought.

Quarter-final- 10th and11th Aug.
Semi-final- 16th and17th Aug.
Final- 21st Aug.
After the round of 16 is complete, quarter-finals and semi-finals will be one leg.
Final in Cologne.
