someone on here started a thred yesterday called WHO SHOULD GO and a few fans have said scott davies in the January window. you should be ashamed of yourselves. you must have short memories. without scotty davies we would still be in non league football so this is complete garbage. he is the best goalkeeper we have had since eric Nixon. so give him a bit of slack.

ebawb - I am not laughing at all. if you think scott davies should leave you have a short memory. let me just say one thing to every Tranmere fan - I AM NOT SAYING AT ALL THAT SCOTT DAVIES HAS NOT MADE MISTAKES BUT WE HAVE NOT EVEN HAD HALF A SEASON YET- SO I SAY TO EVERYONE GET OFF HIS BACK.

also I have news for all those Tranmere fans who want to get rid of scott davies - he has only just signed a new contract so he will not be going anywere soon - so get over it and suck eggs.

I think you'll find there's only one person saying he wants Davies out. It's just that he does so repeatedly.

We could quite easily find ourselves back in League 2 or possibly Non-league as it is. All players have a shelf life. And I'd probably get rid of Davies whilst he still has some value left. I suppose fanboys would keep him forever. To be honest, I think Pilling will ultimately replace Davies. It could be that he already has.

Yes baldy, I started that thread and I agree with you that Davies has come up as a name to be considered. I think Scotty is a descent enough keeper, and he certainly hasn't had a great defence in front of him so far this season, but if a club came in for him at a good price that would really benefit the club, would you not consider it and look at the "bigger picture" which is the teams progress ? By the way, that example applies to any TRFC player in my opinion.

ebawb - my mistake I misread your message- so apologies. but in the cold light of day being serious- how can any Tranmere fan say get rid of scotty when we have not even had half the season yet. every single keeper in the world makes mistakes so I am not bothered if scotty has a few bad games. i think i am correct in saying - that every so often a Tranmere player gets slagged off by our own fans and it seems it is scottys turn which is terrible. just get behind the players full stop.

You can't even read a post without misreading it, which probably explains a lot about your skewed thought process. This is probably due to your raging hormones.
I could probably talk endlessly about how good Davies was in Non-league. But if you'd stopped to notice, we're in League 1 now. He simply isn't good enough. And you'd probably be able to think clearly and sleep a lot easier, if you didn't have such "strong feelings" for him . My little sister was exactly the same way with the New Kids on the Block. I know it must be hard, Baldy. But you've got to see things for what they really are. Being a fanboy must be tough, but it's probably time to grow-up and see the bigger picture. There's probably more to Tranmere Rovers than Scott Davies.

elvis trfc - what are you on. can you please reprint right now were abouts on my last message were I said I loved scott davies- because you know and I know I did not say that. like normal you like to start a war with other Tranmere fans and you like to twist other peoples words. it sounds to me you love luke pilling as if you think scott davies is not good enough pilling is the only other option. so without any facts to your statement please do not make up stupid crass comments.

Because you're inadvertently amusing, I may part edit my above post. For arguments sake, but mostly to avoid upsetting you any further, we should probably call your 'love' for Scotty as "having strong feelings" And I won't openly mention the word 'love' again.
I think it's good that we can agree to disagree, yet still be amicable towards each other.

Davies' injury likely to keep him out until new year. Emergency loan coming in, haven't said whether that's as a starter or to cover for Pilling.

Either way, that's got to be good news. Hopefully, we can improve on 2 clean sheets.

It may be a bit of kidology but it sounded like MM was trying to get in a loan player to actually play rather than act as sub.
Have to say I would be very very disappointed if that is the case. Pilling deserves his chance and should be played IMO - otherwise why bother extending his contract last season?

wouldn,t surprise me to see a keeper coming in and playing before pilling as for giving him a contract he gave a 2yr deal to Gilmore yet doesn,t seem to have much faith in him, micky seems more comfortable with older rather than younger players

On the subject of Rovers keepers, I was recently looking at all the keepers, both permanent and loan, that have been at Rovers over the past 20 years and noticed that David Martin was once on a short loan with us about 10 years ago, I simply cannot ever remember him being with us... Who was he on loan from and did he actually play for us?.. See that he is now at West Ham, the club where is dad Alvin spent so many years..
