World rugby restructuring needed?

Just read a rather interesting article in the mail.....

Some very interesting ideas, and although everyone may not agree, they are interesting none the less and conversations need to be had at the top level of rugby, to basically sort out our game, make clubs financially secure and protect player welfare, so we all have a game to go back to.

At the moment, the game is just not profitable, and especially with the coronavirus hitting clubs (and everyone) hard, it could open some eyes, if and when, we all recover.

Discussion worthy?

Some interesting points in the DM piece. Not sure about reducing Premiership to ten teams. Where would they be located?

Reducing to 10 will not happen The 13 will never vote for a reduced number.
Worrying for me is a potential move to summer rugby and any potential delay to us rejoining the Premiership

I expect they'd cut us, Worcester and London Irish out, and keep the rest. But then as Riponfalcon says, if it such a move needs enough of the cartel members to agree to it, then it's not likely to happen.

For "cartel" read shareholders.

That's the official term, but it's a system designed to keep the elite strong and in position, and keep others out through extremely high barriers-to-entry, where others can even get into a position to enter. To me, that's a cartel.
