Yes. Declan apologising for performances but reassuring. The club has, as we thought, been using this period to get everyone fit for the new season in November hence the big names getting much needed operations now rather than later. Saying that, Hepetema will be out for a whle with a broken wrist and matty Williams has done his ACL and will be out for months. Not risking SOB as he has a tight hamstring. All the short term signings will be leaving at the end of this season. He reckons the youngsters have gained valuable experience, but because we have lacked bulk we've shipped points in the latter stages of matches. We will be fielding our strongest available teams for the last two games.
Financially we have all our sponsors on board and a couple that they still hope to get.
Nearly all the corporate boxes have been booked and up to lockdown, when things unsurprisingly dried up, 1300 season tickets had been sold.
Planning is in place for a return to live crowds but obviously depends on Government rules.
Gave details of our first few and last few matches for next season, but asked us not to say on the forums, or social media.
Hazelwood will keep on showing our matches live into next season.
Obviously until crowds are allowed back, we, like all the other clubs, are in a financial limbo.
Pretty much a case of Brian reassuring us about finances, to an extent and Declan likewise with the team.
It will be interesting to see what Government aid there might be(Sm63)

Of note additionally,

In spite of our relatively light number of season-ticket sales so far, some clubs have sold no season-tickets for 20/21 season starting 21 Nov 20 yet, Brian Facer told us.

The Academy is being fully supported, social outreach projects remain in place as currently, TV rights remain with BT for season 20/21 before going to the open market.

Thats a great summary Francis! Too early to know impact of latest govt announcement on next season. Still working through but daily meetings with PRL RFU and govt taking place. Feeling that govt makes statement but then rows back after discussion

More info here

Zoom meeting... update.

... we were spending to the cap so with revisions to the squad, all the short term contracted players will be leaving. With a couple coming in

We are short in the centres Terrance our 5 months with a broken Wrist and Matt Williams our for a long time was it 8 to 9 months Declan said. 2 new players incoming to replace both (no mention of names of signings).

Club were making lots of plans for return to the stadium but all been put on hold since Monday.... we aren’t allowed in to see seats etc

Internal branding at stadium will all be electronic. Our Badge will be added to the stadium when Brentford have completed opening processes and have a naming sponsor for it.

Plans to put ‘events’ on in local pubs....

Fixtures for next season out in next week or 2.

Kits will be late (Brian said Jan??) in part because there were a couple of new sponsors around and didn’t want to get printed without the ability to add them.

Declan was honest about performance but thinks the younger squad member will have gained lots of useful experience from playing.

Thanks for the readouts, I had connection issues so missed a few bits.

Also Dec confirmed we aren't looking to sign Zebo so another Ruck rumour can be ignored.

How can we spend to the cap if we have no money? No crowds and even if we do, less than 2,000 ST holders. Does anyone ever ask......Where is the money coming from?

Sounds mad to me

Brian has said on a few occasions that our finances are in a reasonable state so not sure where the idea that we have no money has come from (granted the longer the current situation goes on the worse it is going to get for all clubs including us).

While significant; ticket sales (match day and Season Tickets) are not the only revenue stream we have. TV, Product Sales, Sponsorship, the owner are all other avenues which contribute. While not ideal and not something the club will be looking to do the club assets such as Hazlewood could generate money through re-financing. I am sure the club has also rented out the facilities for various events, which will also generate income.

Not dooj obviously but haven't games been streamed at Hazelwood post-lockdown?

If we sign Eastmond then that will be the cherry on top of the cake for incompetence by whoever is in charge of such matters.

I don't know specific events, but have heard our games have been streamed at Hazelwood as GHA mentions. My point is that the club have facilities that they can rent out, which provides an additional revenue stream.

Not a fan, Shankers?

dooj - I agree, but I can't see that being much of a revenue stream during Covid. No wedding receptions, birthday / retirement / whatever parties, for instance - the bread and butter of such venues.

Is Eastmond currently crocked, or is it simply that you think he’s no good?!

He’s way below the form when he played for England, and seems just the sort of ‘journeyman’ that is seeking a last pay-day.

And he’s very injury prone, which makes it a certainty that we’ll be after him.

Lets hope Mr Eastmond doesnt make it through the interview and vetting process and he can take his career elsewhere. I am sure the Irish coaching/selection team will have already noted his career record. Good luck to Mr Eastmond in whatever direction he takes.
