Another naively long contract.

Good for Pat but high risk for the Club.

It is long but for a club like Bristol it makes sense. They are not that attractive for top coaches so locking im the one you have who is improving the team is a good idea. Stability will help them build.

Long contracts can still have break clauses.

Almost always involving a large pay out.

Whilst it doesn't guarantee success pretty much every top side has stability at the top. Seems a smart move to me.
