Baxter, Hepher, Hunter & Pillow extend for another three years beyond the end of this season.

High time that Hepher, Hunter and indeed Sanderson started looking for DOR positions !

Not all coaches are suited to or want to be DoR's. Provided Exeter keep refreshing their squad there's no reason why they can't have continued success

Why would they want to? Hepher and Sanderson are the heirs apparent at their respective clubs. Both clubs have their succession planning well in hand.
I'm surprised England weren't interested in Hunter for the Forwards role but Proudfoot sounds a good choice.

Probably very well set in the area with families etc settled and on decent money. They know the set up inside out. Not sure why they’d want away to be honest. What DoR jobs are likely to come up in the near future? Tigers? Uhm.........

It is precisely because I rate the likes of Hepher and Hunter so highly that I wonder why they would not want to test themselves as the man in charge. Certainly only one of them can inherit Baxters position should he head off to England at some point in the future. The challenge of taking over the helm at Welford Road or The Rec should present any of them an enormous opportunity should the situation arise. Nothing is forever as Jim found at to his cost.

Maybe the prospect of a more level playing field in the Prem (as in salary cap adherence) means the potential for some titles holds some appeal before looking elsewhere as a DoR?

I am hugely impressed with what they have all done at Exeter and how they continue to move the club forward year on year. However on the flip side few if any clubs continue to progress without the introduction of new blood and new ideas. Maybe Exeter do that with more specialist coaches like Jones brought Ella in short term for England, I really don't know.

Failure to freshen up his ideas tank ultimately got JM fired. The same could happen at Exeter. Time will tell.

But even the mighty Alex Ferguson rolled his coaches over every three-four years to give a fresh approach. It worked for him.
