The players and staff of Wolverhampton Wanderers were today booed off the field as they crashed to a third consecutive defeat, this time at the hands of Reading.

Dave Jones made two changes from the side which lost to Palace last week. Welsh International Nathan Blake was left on the bench following an illness and as expected, Matthew Murray replaced the injured Michael Oakes in goal.

Wolves today were unable to pass to each other, the communication is terrible and every player, bar one deserved the boo`s they received whilst leaving the pitch.

The opening stages of the game were boring, infact the first corner of the game was won by Wolves on 25 minutes. As usual Wolves wasted the ball and it was Matt Murray who had the first saves to make after he denied Reading on the break twice. Wolves were lucky to get away with the mistakes made leading up to the two Reading chances.

The half-time whistle came and the boo`s started, this time to boo off a team who had defended poorly, but had kept a clean sheet.

The Second half started brighter for Wolves and Irwin had a Free-Kick saved by the in-form Reading Keeper.

As the game settled it was clear the fans were starting to get frustrated, then came the killer blow. On 59 Minutes Hughes struck a 35yrd shot into the corner of the net, Royals fans go mad, Wolves fans hold heads in hands.

It was to get worse for Wolves, the performance took several major dips and Wolves were lucky to be only one goal down after 65 Minutes.

Jones took captain Butler off and dropped Ingimarsson to centre back. Cooper made an immediate impact as the pace of Wolves game got up. Wolves were unlucky to get back in the game on several occasions although the 1-0 win for The Royals was the overall fair result.

Wolves will be lucky to make the play-offs, £15 Million spent, and Wolves are one point ahead of Walsall, enough said?? I think so.

Final Score - Gutless Wolves 0 Reading 1

MOM - Matthew Murray
