Wild Wolves Hits Gills For Six

REPORT: Goals from Blake, Cameron, Kennedy, Miller, Kennedy ensured 3pts and a fantastic 6-0 win for emphatic Wolves.

Dave Jones made just one change to the side which could only manage a point against Stoke on Tuesday, Nathan Blake replaced Dean Sturridge after Blake was missing on Tuesday due to concussion.

Dave Jones could afford to give Kenny Miller a 15 minute breather after his double and 15th goal in 15 games for Wolves helped crush Gillingham to a stunning 6 goal spell in just 32 minutes.

The sun was shining and by the time Miller knocked the fourth in there was a party atmosphere around Molineux, and fans, like this fixture last term were treated to Mexican Waves and an exciting display of attacking football.

Amazingly it took Wolves 16 minutes to score the first goal. Kenny Miller linked up well with Nathan Blake who hammered his shot past the helpless Gillingham `keeper.

Wolves were now starting to attack more and more, and an over-hit Kennedy cross was directed to the edge of the area by a Gillingham defender and Colin Cameron clinically flicked the ball up, controlled on his knee and lashed the ball past Bartram from the edge of the area on 22 minutes.

 The third goal was not long in coming. Bad defending allowed Kennedy to simply side-foot the ball past Bartram, it was 3-0 and Wolves were cruising.

As the fourth official put the board up to signal 3 minutes of injury time, Wolves hit two killer blows. Kenny Miller picked the ball up on the edge of the area and rattled home a great low drive into the bottom right hand corner, and less than a minute later, Mark Kennedy scored an emphatic volley.

Less than 2 minutes in the second half were gone, when Newtons through-ball was found by Miller who scored his 21st goal of the season - it was 6-0, and the scoring was over.

Irwin hit the bar, and Blake and Sturridge both came close - it was a part atmosphere and Wolves are now 5pts clear in the  Play-Offs with a two-week break.
