Dave Jones believed experience is a key in the Premiership. After the success of old boys Irwin and Ince last season, Jones will not hesitate in bringing another Golden Oldie to Molineux in the Summer.

Dave Jones believes Denis Irwin and Captain Paul Ince played crucial roles in the team which finally won promotion to the Premiership after a mere 19 years, 13 Days, 22 Hours and 20 Minutes.

Jones is now looking to strengthen for the Summer and will not hesitate bringing in another old head.

"I will certainly be considering taking players on a short-term basis," Jones told Sporting Life.

"I did it at Southampton when I brought in Carlton Palmer to keep things steady."

 Wolves have been heavily linked with Spurs striker Teddy Sherringham, but any chance of a move was quashed by Dave Jones and Sherringhams agent.

Jones is also keen to keep the nucleus of his squad at the minute and will give every player a chance to prove himself before dipping into the transfer kitty.

"The likes of Mark Kennedy, Shaun Newton, Nathan Blake and Alex Rae all have experience of the Premiership and that will be valuable to us," said Jones.

"We will be giving our players the opportunity to prove themselves.

"Birmingham City did just that before going out and buying again."
