 Cameron: Give Me My Chance

Wolvers hero Colin Cameron has pleaded with Scotland boss Berti Vogts to give him the chance to pull on a Scotland shirt in the do-or-die Euro Qualifier with Germany next month.

Colin Cameron who has just completed the best season of his career is hoping that his plead with Vogts will be enough for him to start on June 7th against Germany.

Cameron is still on a high after he helped Wolves reach the top-flight for the first time in 19 years but admitted being overlooked by Vogts would burst his bubble.

Colin Cameron should be a Scotland regular but for some reason, Berti Vogts insists on leaving him on the bench. He is playing the best football of his career and is certainly in with a shout of being the most in-form Scotish player at this moment in time, but Vogts still leaves the now Premiership Midfielder out.

Colin Cameron told the Daily Record 

"It would be a big, big disappointment if I wasn't in the team this time. I've just come off the best season of my career and I feel as ready as I'll ever be.

"I'm still on a high from the play-off win last Monday and to get the chance to face the Germans would top anything. I think I could make a difference.

"I feel good and believe this time I deserve a chance.

"I've come into Scotland squads before in the belief I would play, only to be left out. I don't want it to happen again.

"It would mean everything to me to play. It means everything anyway to pull on a Scotland jersey but to do it in a game like this would be a dream."

"I will give everything I have against Germany - that is one thing I can guarantee, although you could say that about all the lads.

"It's been a long season and if you asked any of the players, they could do without the game at this stage.

"But when it is a Scotland match against Germany at a full Hampden, all thoughts of tiredness go out of the window.

"This is as big a game as they come in international football. Win, and we are right in with a great chance. Lose, and we could be looking at second place and even that would be difficult."

Whether the German coach decides to play Cameron or not, he is unable to take the pride away from Cameron being a Premiership player.

Since he turned pro` Cameron had a dream of playing in the Premiership, and at long last his dream came true last Monday.

"Never mind the Wolves fans having to wait 19 years, I couldn't have waited another season.

"To lose out a year ago was heart-breaking so to win this time was just incredible. I'll remember that day for the rest of my life.

"It's the best stadium I've played in, the best atmosphere and probably the most pressure.

"We did it the hard way but that seems to be Wolves all over. They never take the easy road.

"It has taken a lot of hard work but I'm finally where I want to be."
