We reported late last night and earlier today that Glenn Hoddle would be signing a new contract at a Molineux press conference today. However the conference was cancelled after a last minute hitch with Hoddle's contract.

Today Chief Executive Jez Moxey told fans to be sceptical over any reports suggesting Hoddle had signed a deal and has now admitted that contract talks had hit a hitch.

Speaking to the Express and Star Moxey said "There was a late hitch last night but we are still talking".

Press were expected to meet at Molineux today for a morning press-conference where the deal should have been signed in view of the media but this had to be cancelled due to the late problem.

It is unclear what the hitch was but club officials today still believed that Wolves would be able to announce something more positive in the early stages of last week.

Moxey also added that issues "needed to be resolved" and confirmed that talks would continue over the weekend.
