Hantuchova and Myskina had to fight a tough battle

Daniela Hantuchova and Anastasia Myskina had to fight a tough battle to survive at the Sparkassen Cup in Leipzig, Germany. Both players needed three sets to defeat their opponents.

Katarina Srebotnik did fight back in the first round match to make life somewhat more difficult for Hantuchova who is seeded fifth, 6-4 3-6 3-6 was just not good enough for Srebotnik.

The sixth seeded Anastasia Myskina struggled to overcome Nathalie Dechy, 2-6 6-1 6-3.
