Chanda Rubin put on a good performance and also put her bad form in recent weeks behind her advancing to the final with a comfortable victory over seventh seed Iroda Tulyaganova of Uzbekistan.

The top seed's clay form has been way below par in comparison to Tulyaganova who has good results at big tournaments in the last few weeks. Rubin stormed through the first set 6-0 before the Uzbekistan picked her game up but could not hold on losing 6-4.

She will next play Spaniard Maria Sanchez Lorenzo who surprisingly beat Barbara Schett 6-1, 6-3. The American will be hot favourite to claim the title.

(1) CHANDA RUBIN (USA) BT (7) IRODA TULYAGANOVA (UZB)
