Pistolesi crusies past home favourite Schett

Anna Pistolesi of Israel cruised past home favourite and former top 10 player Barbara Schett in straight sets at the WTA Energy Grand Prix, Vienna

Pistolesi who is the defending champion stormed into the second round with a 6-1, 6-2 scoreline. Schett who lost 6-0, 6-0 to Serena Williams at the French Open looks like she has not improved since then.

Karolina Sprem is Pistolesi's second round opponent after she beat Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues 7-5, 6-4, 7-5.

Gala Leon Garcia could have caused a shock against Silivia Farina Elia the fourth seed pushing her to a 6-4, 7-5 loss.
