“Habitat for Humanity” painting sold for 3000 Euro

The in 1976 founded relief organization “Habitat for Humanity” is aiming to replace wretched and poor worldwide accommodations for inexpensive houses. For the last 18 years they built over 150.000 new houses in 3000 places and 92 countries.

The Whirlpool Cooperation, the parent company of German Bauknecht and main sponsor of the WTA is supporting “Habitat for Humanity”. The Painting action with players like Lindsay Davenport, Amelie Mauresmo, Anastasia Myskina, Elena Dementieva and Svetlana Kuznetsova was held on the official “UN Habitat Day”. This so called “Housing Day” held on the first Monday in October commemorates the right to a dignified living, embedded in article 25 of the International Human Rights charter.
