Robins fight for point

Cheltenham earned a point at the JJB stadium after holding on with a firm display.Bobby Gould couldn't have had a tougher second match than Wigan who are flying high at the top of the table but his team put on a brilliant display to earn another point

From the first 30 seconds of this match Cheltenham fans got an idea of what it would be like as Gary Teale hit a shot from the edge of the area that was easily saved by Book.The next real chance again fell to Wigan 10 minutes later when Andy Liddell hit in a cross but the header from Nicky Eaden was again saved by Book.Cheltenham's first real chance came when a Devaney shot was blocked on the edge of the penalty area.Julian Alsop then had a chance to put Cheltenham into the lead but his close range header was blocked by John Filan in the Wigan goal.There were very few chances after that so the match stayed goaless.
Wigan went into the 2nd half looking for goals and they nearly got one a few minutes in but Nathan Ellington's shot was blocked by Duff.Ellington had another great chance but his shot was parried by Book from close range.Cheltenham's first real chance was a long range shot by Grant McCann that was saved by Filan.After that there were very few chances and Cheltenham will be very happy with a point off the league leaders.
