Bring on League One!
The Spireite's completed their pre-season build up with a 3-0 win over Burton Albion. Ian Evatt and a Mark DeBolla brace got the goals for the Spireites in a five minute spell. This effectively killed off the game and left the Spireites with some breathing space to try out younger players.

After a rainsoaked journey to the newly renamed Galpharm Stadium, the Spireites battled hard and came away with a well earned point. Both sides had chances to win the game, but it remained deadlocked despite Mark Allotts disallowed effort.

Australian defender Aaron Downes has signed for the Spireites after verbally agreeing on a deal. The centre-back is hoping to use Chesterfield as a stepping stone to his future, but would like to earn another contract here first.
