Alonso sides with FIA, accuses BAR of cheating

Championship leader Fernando Alonso has weighed into the current situation between BAR Honda and the FIA, siding with the governing body.

"There are two teams that are cheating," he told Radio Marca, a Spanish station. "The first one is BAR, which was clearly demonstrated in Imola."

The Spanish Renault driver, who we believe was not involved in designing the BAR Honda 007, confidently added that the second team cheating are none other than Ferrari.

"They have been testing far more than the other teams. We tested for just six days, but Ferrari did 20."

All of the teams agreed to limit testing to 30 days during the F1 season, apart from Ferrari. The Italian team are continuing to follow their own needs, and the needs of Bridgestone, as reducing testing will not reduce their costs significantly, particularly as they own two circuits.
