Dale Cardoza's hat trick gave Leigh a handsome looking victory although it was far from that as they just about scraped past a resilient Swinton side at Moor Lane.
Swinton made much of the early running and but for some strong Leigh defence they would've taken the lead. It was Leigh however who got on the scoreboard when former Widnes centre Damian Munro continued his hot scoring streak to give the Centurions a 4-0 lead against the run of the play.
Swinton then scored to give them the lead before Cardoza scored just before half time to give Leigh an 8-6 half time lead.
Leigh's class started to become evident in the second half as two more tries from Cardoza gave them a 16-6 try only for Swinton to come back with another try to ensure a frenetic finale.
As Swinton pressed for an equalising try, it was Leigh who crossed the whitewash through debutant Leroy Rivett to give a handsome looking 24-10 victory.
All credit to Swinton for a good performance but Leigh's class again shone through.
