Speculation is mounting that Leigh Centurions are on the verge of signing young centre Danny Halliwell from struggling Super League outfit Halifax.

Centurions coach Paul Terzis is well-known to be in the business of looking to strengthen his squad for the big play-off push and sees 22-year old Halliwell as the perfect signing to improve his options in the backs.

Halliwell is a local lad and known to be a Leigh supporter which is sure to help him persuade that a move to The Coliseum to join the Centurions charge is the right move for him.

Despite his relatively youthful age, Halliwell has bags of Super League experience and has also gained valuable game time on loan with both Keighley Cougars and Warrington Wolves prior to signing for the West Yorkshire club from Leigh Miners Rangers.

The move comes as two more local boys, Tommy Martyn and Ricky Bibey, look to make their Leigh debuts in Sunday's home encounter with Batley Bulldogs.
