Drivers Comments: Albert Park

5-7 March – Australian GP, Albert Park, Melbourne

Panis: “The Albert Park circuit in Melbourne is a nice place to begin the season. After several months of not racing, the whole weekend has a special atmosphere. The track itself is quite dusty at the start of the weekend as it is normally open to the public. For this reason, only one clear racing line develops by Sunday afternoon, which can prevent drivers from making the most of the overtaking possibilities because it is quite slippery off the racing line and easy to make a mistake. As the first race of the year, the Australian GP is normally the most difficult to predict, particularly as it is the first time we race the new car and adapt to any regulation changes.”
