Drivers Comments: Monza

10-12 September – Italian Grand Prix, Autodromo di Monza, Monza

Panis: “Monza is a very high speed circuit, in fact the fastest on the calendar, and one I enjoy racing on because in the past there have been some good on-track battles. We have a three-day test at Monza one week before the race weekend, which allows us to get up to speed in terms of car set-up. It is very important to get a good compromise between mechanical grip and low downforce levels. We need good mechanical grip over the kerbs but at the same time you need to have minimum downforce to be quick in a straight-line. The final race of the European season, this year’s Italian GP will be the prelude to a
new-look season finale with the first ever Chinese GP, then Japan and the final race of the year in Brazil.”
