Christian Iddon and Husky Brands Hatch preview

Christian Iddon, fresh from his wins at Pembrey, heads further South this weekend to the newly owned Brands Hatch circuit. Christian, who was in completely dominating form at Pembrey, is eager to take more wins for the Husky Sport squad; given a big taste of winning and he just wants more and more.

At only nineteen, Christian went from strength to strength in 2003, progressing in an impressive way throughout the year. Growing in confidence and perfecting his original riding style, Christian wrapped up the 2003 British ACU Championship and secured a number of very positive results throughout the European Championships.

In 2004, and on a new make of machinery, Christian will be competing in as many championships as possible; his main concentration being regaining his number one plate in the ACU series. He will also be a fighting force in the World Championship events.

Sitting out this weekend is Warren Steele. The former British Champion came to blows last weekend at Pembrey. Although he still managed to finish a fine second and fourth, he damaged his previously broken leg and aggravated it a little more. He sustained the horrific injury last August at the Supermoto des Nations in France. With two plates and eighteen screws holding his tibia together, his big crash last weekend might have caused further damage.

The other youngster on the squad, 21-year-old Londoner Jay Smith, has been pushing himself further and further towards the front of the pack. Fighting hard with the top lads, Jay is beginning to gain the consistency he was once lacking. Riding on his home circuit this weekend, he should have good support and backing from his friends and family.

Mike Wright is helping develop the Husqvarna 450, and will again be working hard to push the bike faster and gain some creditable results in this very tough class.
