Christian Iddon will be hoping to wrap up the Winter Series title this Saturday at Lydden Hill, Kent. The series has been hotly contested since the beginning, way back in November at Cadwell Park. Christian was then riding for Husaberg but made the switch to Husqvarna come the New Year.

With super impressive results throughout the championship, Christian has been a dominant force, pushing himself forward at every event. He suffered a few setbacks throughout the championship, but has always come back fighting and is looking stronger on every outing.

It’s still all to play for in the overall championship this weekend at Lydden, as Christian and Wire Yamaha rider Dani Müller will be going head to head in the hopes of fighting out the last battle. With a healthy lead in the 650 Class, Christian’s main focus this weekend will be on the Super Final, and clinching a positive result and enough points to seal the championship.

The series has been full of top class riders, ranging from road racing stars such as Glen Richards, John McGuinness, Stuart Easton, Cal Crutchlow, James Whitham and Michael Laverty - all showing their talents in another motorcycle sport. Multi-talented David Knight made a one-off appearance in the opening round at Cadwell Park, dominating the 450 race and taking an easy win.

Warren Steele, although injured still made a valiant effort to fight his corner and try and secure some strong points. The injury he suffered in August was horrific; two plates and 22 screws are now holding his tibia together. A high speed crash at Pembrey ended Warren’s hopes of finishing the Winter Series, and he has now been given doctor’s orders to rest and take some time out.

Husky Sport rider Jay Smith has been battling hard throughout the season, and has gained podium places and strong worthy results. He’s hoping to end the Winter Series on a high, and will be out to prove a point - to finish in a fighting position in preparation for the Summer Championships.

Again Mike Wright is getting to grips with the 450, and working closely with Husky Sport in the further development of their 450, making it into a stronger and more competitive bike. Mike’s results are stronger on each appearance.
