Blues are a region in crisis. Dai Young's side are paying the price for a severe lack of investment in the right areas, and now face a battle
with the Ospreys to avoid the Parker Pen cup.
Desperate times mean desperate measures, and the capital region look set to acquire Aussie lock Matt Cockbain to boost their struggling second row until at least the end of the season. Also joining the World cup winner could be Martyn Madden, who looks odds on to return to pro rugby at his hometown club. Off the field the Blues are blighted by bitter boardroom battles, with Cardiff Athletic club pushing for the ownership of the club following Peter Thomas's well publicised failed attempt to merge with the Celtic Warriors. However the merger talk may add the edge to their game they have sorely missed for the past few seasons. Even if the Blues do make the Heineken cup, expect some drastic changes at the Arms Park come the summer both in the playing and coaching department. End of Season run in;
