World Cup Prediction League 2018

Let me start by thanking everyone for their participation in the 2017 - 2018 competition. Being a part of the competition and watching it come down to the final day once again was probably the most excitement we had all season. Entry to the World Cup 2018 Prediction league will cost £5.40 - £5 going towards a 2018 – 2019 season ticket and unfortunately 0.40p going to Paypal. The winner will receive a voucher towards a season ticket to the value of the cash raised from the entries. The Broomfield Stomp will put in £25 but we I will not be entering. The competition will start with the kick off, of the first match in the 2018 World Cup.
Airdrieonians end of season

Airdrieoninas season officially came to a close last night with the annual player of the year awards and we would like to take a moment just to thank the players who got us through a transitional season. To the backroom staff, players and loan players who got us through we thank you.
Prediction League game 36 - Airdrie 1 Vs. 2 Forfar

I have never been so happy to walk out of a season early, like every other Airdrie fan I think I've suffered some sort of penance this season and I am glad it's over and done with and at the moment I don't even want to think about next season never even mind look forward to it.
Prediction league Games 35

The penultimate update of this seasons prediction league as a injury strewn Airdrieonians travelled to Arbroath. With Airdrie playing for pride and Arbroath fighting for position in the promotion playoffs it may have been a foregone conclusion.
Prediction league Games 33 and 34

Isn't it brilliant being in the only league in Scotland where absolutely nothing has been decided, I'm blatently ignoring the SPL and the split and all that bollocks. The Ladbrokes Scottish League division 1 has it all to play for, no one knows whose going up, know one knows whose going down. A few teams are secure in the division (sigh of relief) but other than that it's still all to play for.
Prediction league Games 30, 31 and 32

Airdrie have four games to go in the SPFL League 1 and I for one was hoping we would be sitting comfortably in no mans land with no fear of relegation or a relegation play off spot and no need to worry about promotion play offs. Well it doesn't look like it's meant to be once again it looks like the Dimaonds faithful will be on tender hooks right to the last minute, exciting isn't it?
Prediction League Match 27, 28 & 29

Airdrie travelled to East Fife on the 10th of March and were stunned by a quick goal from Chris Duggan after only 13 minutes, Airdrie fought back and equalised through Daniel Higgins on the half our mark but it was East Fife who would have the final say when Kyle Wilkie Scored on the 92 minute.On Tuesday the 13th of March we faced Stranraer, after only 3 minutes Stranraer were awarded a penalty after a sloppy tackle and Kyle Turner slotted home. 10 minutes later referee John McKendrick awarded Airdrie with the second panalty of the game and Ryan Conroy levelled the score. This time it was Airdrie who would have the final say when Darryl Duffy score the winner on 70 minutes.On Saturday we travelled to Alloa looking to improve our away form Alloa took the lead after 21 minutes with a goal from Iain Flannigan, Airdrie replied through Dale Carrick 6 minutes later. Ryan Conroy had the chance to give the Diamonds the lead from the spot but his penalty was saved by Neil parry and it was then Alloa who had the final say of the half when Kevin Crawley scored to see the first haf out 2-1. In the second half a Darryl Duffy goal gave the Diamonds an share of the spoils.
Prediction League Match 23, 24, 25 & 26

Having just realised i'm four matches behind I thought it was time I caught up with the prediction league ahead of tonights rescheduled Alloa game. There is not one of us that doesn't know survival is the key this season and on the 3rd of Feb we took a step towards that when we beat Forfar away from home, a single goal separated the teams and it ws scored by Dale Carrick on the 40th minute match. Our next outing was on the road again, this time to League Leaders Raith Rovers Airdrie took the lead when Dale Carrick slotted home on the 44th minute but Raith have proven to be a team who like to come from behind and this match was to be no different, Willis Furtado got the equaliser for Raith on 63 minutes and then the winner was cored by Lewis Vaughan on 76 minutes.
Prediction League Match 21 & 22

A little catch up for the prediction league after a loss against Stranraer and a home draw against Arbroath at the weekend. Stranraer 3 vs 2 Airdrie a day of unfortunate events that utimately lead to Airdries first loss in six games Dale Carrick opened the scoring for the Diamonds before a Stephen Okoh double put Stranraer in the lead. Willis Furtado then got Airdrie back in to the match only to see Angus Beith settle the match for Stranraer and give the home time the win. Airdrie 0 - 0 Arbroath <- and that was all she wrote! That by line is probably an injustice we took a point from a team above us in the league and we got another shut out but from a fans point of view that was an awful game in crap weather.
Prediction League Game 19 & 20

Happy New Year everyone and lets hope it's more exciting that todays 0-0 draw with East Fife, but i've skipped a match and will return to todays match shortly. On Tuesday 2nd of January Airdrieonians travelled the short distance to Coatbridge to take on Albion Rovers in the local New Years derby in front of a bumper crowd.
