Stevie McKeown is a five year veteran as a Diamond having made his debut under Alex MacDonald way back in 1998 as a 16 year old. Dosser, as he's often known, is a bustling striker who has now played under the last FIVE Airdrie managers.

Stevie was in a way Airdrie's own 'Wayne Rooney' type character back in the late nineties having first made an impact under Alex MacDonald. One game at Raith springs to mind where he hustled and bustled the ferocious Dave Bowman into submission one cold winters night. After Doddies departure McKeown would fulfil a super sub role under Gary MacKay but too often he'd be thrown on when we were two goals down. Under Steve Archibald his chances were limited but he still managed to get on the scoresheet and under Ian McCall he never made it onto the pitch, such was the form of Mark Roberts and Owen Coyle. Under Sandy Stewart though he is beginning to finally live up to his potential with some fine displays, drawing the best out of his more experienced team mates. A very popular player with the crowd for his wholehearted displays and direct approach to goal we all hope that Stevie ascends to the heights of former Diamonds like Coyle, Flood and Clark.
