Airdrie travelled to Bayview for the second time in 10 days, this time on league business. International week had disrupted a fine run of form for the Diamonds and a tough run of games beckoned. Could Sandy Stewart's men pick up where they left off?
Airdrie kept the same team who'd systematically destroyed East Fife ten days earlier but the performance was diabolical to say the least. Willie Wilson was turned inside out early on and though McGeown blocked the resultant shot, he only succeeded in pushing the ball out to a Fife forwart to slot home easily. We did equalise through Glancy before half time though probably undeservedly so. The second half was even worse. Sandy Stewart came on for the injured McGowan and the rearranging of the defence didn't help. East Fife's second goal was a joke from our defensive (?) point of view with both McManus and W.Wilson looking none to clever and the killer third not being cleared too effectively.
