Airdrie football club are nearing one of those forks in the road that will decide whether we have a future or not. On the one side we have the control of our club getting passed to Andy Gemmel a man who has admitted that he has no place in his heart for Airdrie Football Club but instead rules with his head. His head leads him to believe that giving the football stadium away to an outside faction, namely Bill Barr a proven liar and businessman. At meetings which I have attended Mr Gemmel stated that Airdrie's future lies in youth, as yet there is no sign of a youth policy being implemented and whilst loosing an estimated £20,000 per month I don't see many other players coming in to strengthen the squad or building any sort of policy other than keeping players part-time or on month to month contracts. If the loss of money continues in this vain will we be in the same situation in one or two years time, but this time who will want to come in and invest money, without the financial security of the stadium, no advertising rights and the money from the sale of all club related peripherals going to Barr. Can the club survive under these circumstances ? When KPMG brought in Steve Archibald they said it was done due to fan pressure and this scared everyone else away, we wouldn't accept anyone else. Over the last few months I have came to the conclusion that this is Bull, what has scared everyone away is having to deal with Bill Barr and KPMG. Both the afore mentioned companies are still the main players in the rape of our club. Okay Steve may have let us done but hopefully he will spill the beans on his side of the story eventually, whether due to his failure or not. He has to let us know. With the CVA due in a few weeks or months many supporters will then have a choice to make, support the above scenario or not. The other fork leads, where? I don't have the answers to that question but I don't think we will ever find out until KPMG, Gemmel and Barr are removed |
