Airdrie Vs. St Johnstone match preview

Airdrie host St Johnstone this weekend in our fourth league match of season 2005-2006. It's going to be a tough match against one of the teams expected to be challenging for the championship.

All's quiet on the Airdrie front Sandy Stewarts only concern is Martin Hardie who is still out with groin strain. Hardie is back in training from reports and should be pushing for a start shortly.
Brian Prunty will have a chance to show his stuff after completing a
full weeks training with Airdrie. This time last week Brian had just completed a double training session thinking no one would be along to pick him up.
In this weeks advertiser Mark Sugden reports that we are to take Craig Sives of Hearts on loan until the end of the season. Nothing has been officially reported concerning the 19 year olds arrival at Airdrie and tomorrow may be the only confirmation we get. Sandy has also ruled out any move for Kevin Rutkiewicz from our opponents this weekend St Johnstone.
It looks like we will be fielding the same team that faced Brechin last weekend after they managed to get our first points and first goal this season. |

Is it to be a case of the pupil rising above the master, will Owen Coyle manage to turn around the St Johnstone fortunes from last season vs. the Diamonds, of course come tomorrow we will all know.
Two different reports suggest that St Johnstone are either awaiting international clearance for ex-Dundee United mid-fielder Jason Scotland where as another suggest he will be on the park for tomorrows game. Owens only other doubt is John Henry who is struggling to get back to fitness after taking a knock in training. |

Ref Review: - Crawford Allan |
Crawfard Allan seems to be one of those referees who wander around the lower divisions every now and again popping in to the first division and then disappearing back in to oblivion once again.
Crawford refereed two of our games last season, the first our 2-0 win over QOTS in December saw three only one coming our way a yellow for Docherty. The second match was our 2-1 win over St Johnstone in which Docherty was sent off and Hardie was given a yellow card.
