Lee Gardner hasn't had the easiest of times at Airdrie since being one of the first 'post Archibald' players brought in by Ian McCall. It's fair to say that Gardner looked out of place in Division One having been plucked from Alloa's reserve side. Gardner though has though consistently ploughed away when selected and in fairness never let down McCall when asked, albeit his inclusion was usually in place of a fan favourite. Now he has to go through it all again with Sandy Stewart, but early indications show that Stewart may have a role for him which suits him better than McCall did. Gardner has had an interesting career playing for such diverse teams as Aberdeen and Albion Rovers, calling at such ports as Arbroath, Alloa and Clydebank along the way.
