If only I didn't sit where I did...

I really wish that the season ticket I purchased hadn't been where it is. It's just been one of a lot of disappointments this campaign. There are quite a few characters around me: 'Spliffy girl,' 'Sit down man,' and 'Gorilla' but to name a few.

| I am contemplating whether or not I would like to remain a season ticket holder next season. Not only has this term been a disaster on the pitch for our lads, but I've also spent a whole season sat behind 'the sit down man.' We named this guy at the beginning of the season when we first met him. It was one of the first games, Marlon Harewood was stepping up to take a penalty and we were all standing up in an anticipation... that was of course, everybody but the 'Sit down man' who just stood there shouting at us to "Sit Down" and he even tugged at my sleeves. In the end the stewards came and forced us to sit down and that was all down to him. Maybe I should've expected it sitting in the E Block of the Main Stand but I had never realised that this area of the ground was so dead. I knew it wasn't the best part of the City Ground, but I never knew that it would be considered an amazing atmosphere if you were to clap. There isn't just the one character who sits around me and my mate at the CG, though. We seem to have named almost everybody around us. There's the 'Spliffy girl' who once smoked about twenty 'happy' cigarettes in one match but converted to around ten regular cigarettes when bringing her daughter and her friends. There are the 'Nottingham' once man now family; they are named this as the father of the family, who only seem to turn up when Forest have good fortunes, will only sing one verse of one chant: "NOT-TING-HAM." Not only does he seem out of place being in the E Block and making the effort to sing but that makes the fact that he only sings that one part stick out even more. There's also the 'Gorilla Man,' he has a massive build and will jump up screaming and shouting like King Kong whenever the referee makes a mistake. One other thing that makes this notable is the fact that when signaling that the ref should be giving out a card with his hands it looks like he is trying to signal something rather rude! There are of course more characters but I can't be bothered to tell you the names and why they have been handed these for all of them, I just wanted to get a few things off my chest and I'll leave you with this thought: Never sit in E Block! |
