Reading

TEAM NEWS

Reading will go into tomorrow's match against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium with a fully fit squad for the first time this season.

This means captain Graeme Murty has recovered from an injury sustained in the 0:0 draw at Southampton. However it is thought that Murty will only make the bench which means Stephen Hunt is likely to miss out from the 16 man squad tomorrow.

1 change that is well a possibility is the introduction of Dave Kitson to the starting eleven. The former Cambridge front man has started the previous 2 games on the substitute bench after recovering from a knee injury, but manager Steve Coppell could introduce Kitson at the expense of Leroy Lita who has failed to score for over a month now. This would be a significant point in Coppell's thoughts bearing in mind he paid Bristol City 1,000,000 for Lita and Cork City received just a petty 72,500 for Doyle.

It's likely Steve Coppell will keep Steve Sidwell on the bench for the game, with Sidwell very likely to start the match against Sheffield United in the 3rd Round Carling Cup on Tuesday. Brynjar Gunnarsson and James Harper will receive the boost that both will start the game, though questions will be asked about Gunnarsson on the goal conceded at Hull.

Stoke City expect to have former Reading winger Luke Chadwick available despite sending him to a specialist today to cure an on-going abdominal injury. The injury has left Chadwick unable to train with the rest of the City first team squad but able to feature in games, to which he has only missed 1 so far this season.

Two players definitely missing the game though is Stoke City captain Michael Duberry who begins the 1st of a 3 game ban for being sent off against Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night for elbowing Pavol Suhaj. The second player out is Icelandic striker Hannes Sigurdsson who sustained a punctured lung while attempting an over head kick in the win over Crewe. The replacements are likely to be Gerry Taggart in defence and Peter Sweeney, formerly of Millwall.

Replacing Duberry as captain will be ball winning midfielder Dave Brammer.

FORM GUIDE

The Royals are currently in a fantastic run of form, which hasn't seen Steve Coppell's side lose since the opening day defeat to Plymouth Argyle. The run has lasted 15 games and should the Royals avoid defeat tomorrow at the Britannia Stadium and beat Sheffield United in the Carling Cup on Tuesday, it will equal the record set between April 1973-October 1973 in the old 4th Division.

The Royals gained a well deserved point on Tuesday night when Glen Little rose up 16 minutes from time to give the side a 1:1 draw at the KC Stadium against Hull City.

The Potters, along with Luton Town and Cardiff City have probably been the surprise sides in the Championship with there excellent starts (no disrespect to the 3 sets of supporters). They have a healthy points tally of 19 points from 14 games which sees the side sit in 9th place, 1 point behind a Playoff position.

Johan Boskamp's team earned a 2:0 derby day victory over rivals Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Sambegou Bangoura and Michael Duberry, who was later sent off.
