PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON A GAME THAT I ATTENDED (AT THE TIME OF WRITING) 10 YEARS AGO, SO IT'S HIGHLY LIKELY THAT SOME OF THE BELOW WILL HAVE CHANGED SINCE THEN.

You know those pre-season friendlies that offer no value whatsoever? That's what our first team gets when they go to Boston Town in pre-season.

After the big rivalry with their neighbours Boston United in the previous season, it was a bit of a surprise that we arranged a friendly with Boston Town, and there were a few Boston fans who were there trying to cause trouble, fortunately the only Lincoln fans that had gone were people who absolutely no interest in such things, such as young families.

I had gone with my friend Adam and we stayed over with a friend of mine, Lee. After getting to Boston on a train we went to the ground and it was relatively simple to get to, but then again Boston isn't exactly a big town, so it wasn't the hardest or longest walk. Upon entering the ground, you're met with a stereotypical lower league ground.

You enter the ground behind the goal and into a flat area that covers the outside of about 1/2 of the ground, although the end covering the side of the pitch now appears to have a roof covering it. Behind the far goal is an elevated seatin stand that is incredibly tight and although you can see the other goal, it's like watching a film in widescreen, you can see it all but it doesn't feel like it. The final stand is a pitch length terrace.

The one thing I did notice about Tattershall Road is that it is INFESTED with ants. I have never seen so many ants in my life. I know it's pretty irrelevant on the grand scheme of things, but it just creeped me out that you feel like you should be going to the ground with a kettle to help make the ground a bit less in need of fumigating.

But anyway, I digress. It's not a bad little ground overall but the fact that I haven't been back in the 10 years since my one and only visit says it all.
