Imps set for vital game

The Imps face a tough challenge as Cheltenham Town travel to Sincil Bank this Saturday. The Imps haven't beaten the Robins for almost 5 years but a win if vital for the Imps if not only to hopefully move up the table, but to try and get out of this 17 team group stuck between 28 and 33 points.

INTRODUCTION

God this division is starting to annoy me, it's so irritating, there are so few points separating a lot of teams that the result on Saturday could mean the Imps potentially move 3rd or could possibly slip out of the top half of the table all together. The Imps have a home game against one of the teams in this massive handful of teams, Cheltenham Town.

There is the potential for a lot of changes this Saturday after Tuesday's embarrasing display so your guess is as good as mine at this point. The only player likely to miss out no matter what is McAuley who missed the game at Moss Rose through injury.

CHELTENHAM TOWN

Cheltenham were Lincoln's shadow a few weeks ago, wherever City were in the table, Cheltenham were the place behind. However, a poor-ish run has seem them slip away from the Imps. However, they shouldn't be taken likely because they've only lost 4 of their last 16 games in the league. They have a average record on the road winning at Southed (2-0), Rochdale (2-1) and Macclesfield (2-0) but have lost at Shrewsbury (2-0), Rushden (1-0), Oxford (1-0).

PREVIOUS RESULTS AGAINST CHELTENHAM TOWN

The Imps haven't mastered Cheltenham and often struggle. The home game last season ended 0-0 but the away game saw the Imps lead twice before two last minute goals saw Cheltenham win 3-2. The Imps last victory over Cheltenham was in October 2000 when the Imps won 1-0.
