Henman added: "It's a big responsibility but one which both Lucy and I are really looking forward to."
He married Lucy, in December 1999. The couple live in Barnes, south-west London.
Henman, ranked in the world's top 10, made the announcement on his website before preparing to fly to Monte Carlo to play in a clay court Masters Series event after recovering from a neck injury.
In 1998, he became the first British player to reach a Wimbledon semi-final since Roger Taylor in 1973.
He made it again in 1999 and 2001 but was beaten both times.
