The New Gilbert Alsop stand, on time for completion in November, in time for Gillingham game The Stand will hold over 4000 fans, and is the first real change to the stadium since 1990. Season Ticket holders can transfer here for free.
New Stand Pictures 16/11/02 : Open day 2.
The second open day provided TheSaddlersFC with a prime opportunity to get some more snaps of the new stand. They must have knew we were coming and didn't switch the lights on, so the flash had to try and illuminate the stadium on it's own. The welders were busy working on railings at the Banks's stand side of the new stand, while the workmen were busy working underneath the stand. The walkway underneath the stand is coming along slowly, and the builders are working on finishing the back of the stand near the plastic pitch. In my opinion they have a lot more work to do before Saturday, but then again that's assuming everything including the walkway and facilties under the stand are finished. We are going to be contacting the club to find out what the state of play is with the new stand on Saturday.

These Pictures were taken at the open day for season ticket holders. Because of the lighting the pictures are not the best, but, never the less they show what a cracking view you get from up there. It was a busy day with some people having to que for up to 1 and a half hours. The central areas are proving to be very popular. One complaint about the upper tier would be the hand railings, which at times can impede your view. The best feature of the stand would have to be its leg room. The steps are so steep that your head is level with the other persons ankles as you sit down. Roll on November 23rd !
