A business like Sheffield United
side swept aside a Saddlers team who were sitting ducks with no
cutting edge in the final third.
The Saddlers fought well for most
of the game but never looked like taking anything away from
Bramhall Lane after Peschisolido's 41st minute goal taking
advantage of some poor goalkeeping from Walsall keeper Jim Walker.
Darren Wrack had two good
openings in the game but he failed to take advantage of them.
Walker pulled of a string of fine saves prior to and after Uniteds
opener, but his heroics were undone when he mis-punched the ball
in to Peschisolido path.
Tonge should have made it two in
the second half, but he could only shoot in to the side netting.
The second Blades goal always seemed likley, especially as the
Saddlers were chasing the game.
It eventualy came courtesy
of
Peschisolido pounced in the 41st minute to put the Blades ahead
when the Saddlers' keeper Jimmy Walker fumbled a cross by Alan
Wright to atone for a miss moments earlier when he screwed well
wide from 10 yards out.
Tonge was again the provider, pulling the ball back for provided
the cutback to the edge of the box for Montgomery to slot home in
the second game running. Tongue atoned for his earlier miss by
setting up Montgomery for United's second.
