The Saddlers were without Paul
Merson, Karl Hawley took his spot on the bench, otherwise the
Saddlers remained unchanged.
The Saddlers took the lead
after just 12 minutes when the inform Jorge Leitao took advantage of
a weak back pass by Livermore.
Braniff got the equalizer just
before half time, before Cahill got the second Milwall goal just
before the break. Poor defending was evident for both the goals.
Milwall players were allowed to move in to good positions without
challenges. Osborn, Roper, Aranalde, Ritchie and Wrack all played
parts in the Milwall goals.
The Saddlers failed to keep possession
and stamp there authority on the game and never looked like they
were going to get in to the hat for the next round.
Leitao saw red on 70 minutes
when he picked up his second yellow card, while Jim Walker was sent
off on 90 minutes for raising his hands to Dennis Wise.
All in all a very disappointing
performance from the Saddlers. We are still unable to go away from
home and dominate the play. We rarely net more than one goal on our
travels, and until that happens we are unlikely to get to many
wins.
