Laugh out loud. For those that didn’t attend Fortress Bescot today, well, you missed a treat. A much changed Saddlers side produced the most comical performance ever witnessed since the Stadium opened in 1990. The Sky Blues ran out comfortable winners and had they reached double figures then no-one supporting the “team” in red could have cause for complaint.

The match started with the Saddlers seemingly disinterested (it also ended with the Saddlers disinterested – in fact, I don’t think they were ever interested) with Coventry looking to attack from the off. They were gifted the first goal after what can only be explained as a “strange” decision from the official went their way. Having shot 10 yards wide of goal the official for reasons only known to the man on the moon decided to award Coventry a corner. From the set piece a Sky Blue player rose unchallenged 8 yards out to nod past a Sunday league keeper.

Shortly afterwards the incompetent official then dismissed Oakes as he battled for the ball in the middle of the park to leave the Saddlers with a mountain to climb. Throughout the first 45 minutes the ref only served to totally confuse the watching spectators with his strange interpretations of the laws of the game. However, the incompetent clown was not the only root cause for this spanking. In all honesty, Walsall were abysmal. Totally clueless. Totally gutless.

It would be unfair to say that Mr L.S.Mason completely ruined the afternoon though as at least he created a decent atmosphere within the ground as the home support would have lynched him given half a chance.

Strangely, after going down to 10 men the Saddlers produced their most inventive football with Matias looking quite dangerous. He was probably the pick of a bad bunch in the first half but unfortunately he went on to ultimately cost Walsall the match with a pathetic second half showing. Just before the break Walsall draw back onto level terms when Wrack curled a peach into the bottom corner.

As the teams came out for the second half I was convinced we would go on to win the match. Pedro however had other ideas. He had the touch of a rapist as he continually controlled the ball further than I could pass it. He lost possession in the middle of the park (twice) and on both occasions the Sky Blues went on to score. Roper playing on the left hand side of the central defensive (I use the term defensive loosely) partnership had an absolute mare as he gifted the Sky Blues a further two goals.

At least the Sky Blues took pity on us and went on to pathetically miss a penalty. Make no mistake, this was a pathetic performance carried out by amateurish players. It was nothing short of disgraceful. Changes must be made.

Nel Harper -no heart, passion ?, there was none, gutless, no backig from the board, where do we go from here ? help
Click To Preview Phil Burton - The ref ruined it really. From the outset he was awful. I don't think we stood too much chance of winning the game with the way things are, but a couple of poor decisions turned the game.
Click To Preview Geoff Whiting - There are so many more things I could say about today, but I cannot blame CL. Who gave the ball away twice for no reason and goals resulted just seconds later - no, not CL - it was Pedro
