Midland comment on Bahrain Result

Sometimes you are never meant to know anything. Lots of people keep things packaged up inside them until it blows, then you've got to watch out if you're in range. Race drivers used to do that sort of thing. I'm fairly certain that given more problems, Kimi will burst before the end of the season.

However it's very rare for teams to air their problems in public and to admit that there was a problem in the first place. Despite this, Midland have shared with us their frustration and disappointment about last weekends race in Bahrain.

"True, we had some rotten luck in Bahrain and the package was clearly not up to snuff. The team was, in fact, "gutted" by the final result, given all the work and investment that went into our improvements this winter." said our team source.

Despite the disappointments, the positives far outweighed the negatives over the weekend. The team have been encouraged by a number of results over the weekend which keep the team on target for improvement.

On Tiago:
"Tiago's heroic performance. Not only did he maintain his focus after having his car fail on the parade lap, he actually drove pretty well in the T-Car, all things considered. He totally has the team's respect, and they will go through walls for him."

On Toyota:
"Contrary to erroneous posts, we finished on the same lap as Toyota... and not far from them, I might add. This clearly suggests that the problem does not lie entirely with the chassis."

On Malaysia:
"We accumulated some pretty useful data for Malaysia, so many of the problems should be rectified. I'm not suggesting we'll make a charge to the front - far from it - but at least we expect further gains."

On the Team:
"The boys are more motivated than ever and have been working like demons to get on top of the situation. You want passion? Some of these engineers and mechanics have not had more than a few hours sleep since the end of the race. They're a top group of professionals with petrol coursing from their veins and they will not rest until the job is done. Take heart from this - I certainly am."
