USGP: Qualifying sessions report

Tonight Midland F1 Online are leaping up and down. Portugal may well have beaten England in a penalty shoot out, but we frankly couldn't care less. Midland F1 will start tomorrows race with both cars within the top 16!

Let's do this one in simple note form.

11.30 into the first 15 minute session - Christijan Albers takes to the track. 10.45 in and Tiago Monteiro joins him.

Christijan's first timed lap 1.13.360 and Tiago's 1.13.094. Tiago managed to pump in purple sector times (best out of all competitors so far) in sectors one and two.

3.00 to go Christijan out for a second lap. 2.51 Tiago out too.

Christijan records a 1.12.711 and Tiago an even better 1.12.627.

For the first time this season Midland F1 Racing make it through to the second 15 minute qualifying session with both drivers. Fantastic!

Second 15 minute session.

No action from Midland F1 until 3.50 left. Just like Silverstone, the team are leaving it until the last moment and going on one all-out lap.

Tiago puts his time up first, a 1.12.864. Christijan just pips him with a 1.12.854.

Midland F1 will start tomorrows United States Grand Prix from 14th and 15th places - their highest grid positions of the year.
