Early days yet - lots of spaces to fill in.

New Signing 5
Unconfirmed Signing 1
Retained 4
Unconfirmed Re-Signing 16
Leaving 6
No Information 9

Backs
Shea Cornish
Wing
Last Season DR Has made quite an impression since his debut against Rams back in December. The Exeter Academy player had put a firm claim on the No. 14 shirt. Hopefully, Albion will be able to secure his services for next season.

Jon Dawe
Centre
Unconfirmed Re-Signing What happened to Jon? No appearances after a fairly solid season in 18/19. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Alex Ducker
Wing
Unconfirmed Re-Signing Must have had an accident with the superglue at the start of the season as started every game on the left wing. 2nd highest try scorer in the squad with 11 tries. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Connor Eastgate
Centre
Confirmed Re-signing 22 appearances from 25. Listed as Centre - started all but one from Full Back. Has been influential in a number of games.

Sam Hollingsworth
Fly Half
Rumoured Signing Perhaps a disappointing season past with Rotherham ending with relagation having moved from Moseley for whom he played for 2 seasons. Represented England U18s & U20s.

Devon Jewsbury
Wing
No Information Failed to make any appearances for the 1st team this season.

Phil Jones
Fly Half/Full Back
New Signing Graduating from the Ospreys Academy, Phil had spells with Swansea. Has featured for Wales U20s and Sevens.

Sam Morley
Fly Half
Departed A regular in the No 10 shirt taking the position from Muggy after his injury. As the 'second' kicker in the side added 26 from the boot to go with his 4 tries. Hasn't made any appearances for the Chiefs this season - has opted to drop down a level by Joining Esher.

Dan Mugford
Fly Half
Departed A season to forget - we wish him well

Oliver Mulberry
Scrum Half
Unconfirmed Re-Signing 5 appearances off the bench has meant a quiet season for the 27yr old as Joe Snow & Cam Setter have tied up the Scrum-half position between them. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Javiah Pohe
Centre
Unconfirmed Re-Signing Kept his place at 12 throughout the season with one exception. Must like to pass the ball on as scored a solitary try. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Dan Powell
Full Back
Unconfirmed Re-Signing Started in 6 of 11 appearances throughout the season, scoring 2 tries. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Tom Putt
Full Back
Unconfirmed Re-Signing A smattering of 7 appearances with 2 starts Tom hasn't featured much in his first season back. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Setareki Raumakita
Centre
Unconfirmed Re-Signing 6 appearances in a patchy season, scoring 2 tries. RN duties have kept him away from the Brickfields. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Cameron Setter
Scrum Half
Unconfirmed Re-Signing 20 appearances, 12 of which Mr Jones would euphamistically call a 'finisher', this stalwart has now completed 6 seasons with Albion. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Matt Shepherd
Full Back
New Signing A previous favourite of the Albion faithful, Matt returns to the club after a season at Redruth.

Josh Skelcey
Wing
Confirmed Re-signing 16 appearances last season bagging 9 tries. Seemed to have fallen slightly out of favour with JS at the helm. That said it looks like he will be hanging around as he put pen to paper signing on for 2 more seasons.

Joe Snow
Scrum Half
Last Season DR The Chiefs Academy player has been a near constant in the 9 shirt since mid October, accruing 4 tries in the process. A single appearance for the Chiefs in each of the last two seasons could also be a candidate for a permanent move.

Dean Squire
Centre
No Information A regular in the middle of the backs. 4 Tries out of 22 appearances. Has now been with Albion for 4 seasons and just reached his 100th cap before the season was terminated. Now he has his mug, will he stay on?

Pierre Thompson
Scrum Half
No Information Played in 3 out of the 4 initial games of the season but thereafter restricted to 3 appearances off the bench.

Robbie Weeks
Centre
No Information Somewhat disappointing season for Robbie, making only 2 appearances off the bench. Scored a consolation try against Cinderford.

Forwards
Koree Britton
Hooker/Prop
Unconfirmed Re-Signing 20 Appearances last season after suffering an injury in preseason. Credited with 4 tries. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned.

Luke Chapman
Prop
Departed Sadly a long term injury results in Luke hanging up his boots. May continue to see him about as part of the backroom staff.

Jake Clemson
Flanker
New Signing Signing from Pirates, Jake had been loaned out to Redruth for parts of the last couple of seasons.

Dan Collier
Lock
Unconfirmed Re-Signing The veteran of 4 consecutive seasons had a good run starting 18 games and coming off the bench for another, 1 try (sure he got more). Is there another season in the 35 year old? Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned,

Ashley Crouch
Prop
Departed Heading for Christchurch, NZ for a spell at University of Canterbury

Sam Daly
Flanker
No Information Another frustrating season for Sam despite scoring 4 tries in the first part of the season, his last appearance was back in November. Will he stay on or look elsewhere?

Jack Higgins
Prop
Departed Having appeared in every game of the season (3 times from the bench), Jack is taking a step up to join Jersey in the Championship.

Pete Ingoldsby
Flanker
Unconfirmed Re-Signing Pete has progressed well since his promotion from the Academy, making 11 appearances, 4 of which were starts. No tries as yet. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Pete Keanie
No 8
Unconfirmed Re-Signing Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned so presumably come up from the Academy, having previously played for Plymstock Albion Oaks and Devon U18s.

John Kelly
Prop
Departed A regular presence in the matchday squad. Versatility makes him a good asset. Did collect a red card though. Can Albion retain his services for next season? Sadly no, as he progresses to the Championship with Doncaster Knights.

James Kenny
Prop
Last Season DR After 4 appearances at the tail end of the season Crossed the line once against Cambridge,

Scott Makepeace
Lock
Unconfirmed Re-Signing The navy man scored one try in his 13 appearances throughout the season. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Davy McGregor
Hooker
No Information One appearance for the veteran Irishman. Will this be his last?

George Mills
Flanker
Unconfirmed Re-Signing George's 4th season saw him score 7 tries in 23 appearances. Never substituted. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Max Norey
Hooker
Last Season DR 4 tries in 11 appearances for the DR from Exeter. Likely will return next season as had significant layoff this term.

Will Norton
Prop
New Signing Will will return next season on a two year deal following a quiet time at Penzance.

Lewis Pearson
Lock
Last Season DR Started 21 games scoring 2 tries this time out. After three seasons at Albion and only had one run out as a Chief this season is it time to make his position at Albion a little more exclusive?

Filip Perica
Centre
No Information One appearance off the bench was perhaps not what Felip was expected when he signed for Albion last yeat.

Dan Pullinger
Prop
Confirmed Re-signing Signed up for another 2 years was a regular in the 3 shirt until injury interrupted his season. Was making hs return before the season was cut short.

James Salter
Hooker
Unconfirmed Re-Signing Top try scorer agaon bagging 13 - Will Jamie stay on for a fifth season? Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Alex Smith
Prop
No Information Another product of Albion's Academy, the loosehead prop made 3 brief appearances coming on as a late substitute. Kept the bench warm on a further occasions.

Herbie Stupple
No 8
Confirmed Re-signing Extended contract to 2023. This was perhaps not his most illustrious season as injury has kept him off the pitch. Probably will benefit the most with the extended close-season.

Dan Swain
Lock/Flanker
Unconfirmed Re-Signing His 3rd season at Albion saw Dan make 13 appearances in the searly to middle part of the season. Crossed the line 4 times. Listed in Max's update 9 as resigned or close to be resigned

Seb Tooke
Prop
No Information No appearances for Albion's first team as yet, but there is a lot of competion among the props. Maybe next season.

Rusi Tuima
Flanker/No 8
Last Season DR Well fancied as an England prospect, this must have been the last term we will see Rusi in an Albion shirt. 8 appearances and one try. A red card was a small blot in the copy book.

Damien Welch
Coach
New Signing Damien takes over the reigns having hung up his boots following a playing career that included the Chiefs, Cardiff and

Don't delete any rugby you may have on your recordings, watch them through, and then you can watch them again when you are getting desperate for more rugby.

Nothing personal - will have to 'fill him in' later.

On a more general level, will there be a 2020/21 season, and how will this be made possible?

Of all sports, rugby .. and particularly the rugby scrum ... set challenges for player safety from Covid-19. Rucks and Mauls don't help either. Rugby is one where social distancing is impossible and close personal contact is inevitable - far more than basketball, soccer, or even rugby league.

Player testing is expensive and even then it does not pick up all of those in the pre-symptomatic stages of the virus.

Will rules be modified for 2020/21? Will we be forced to modify to a set of rules that will mirror the grey shadow of a game that is rugby league? Or do we simply wait?

Rule re-write? Here you go... New rules

On a more serious note, I fear many clubs will struggle, especially if they rely on gate income and provided their insurers will allow them to compete next season.

Maybe we will be looking at a 'non-season'

Hold on, I think they have solved the personal space issue

[m.youtube.com]

Seriously, if rules are amended to eliminate scrums, rucks and mauls (see earlier post) what does that mean for team selection or recruitment?

Alex Ducker x 14 plus a Connor Eastgate would probably be the to go.

Jack Higgins has gone for the cream and signed for Jersey next season according to Albion's twitter feed.

Good luck to him in his new venture!

From MaxV's latest update

"I am now delighted to report that the following players have already pinned their colours to the mast as Albi men having either agreed terms or be in advanced talks for the new season.

Dan Pullinger, Will Norton, Koree Britton, Jamie Salter, Pete Ingoldsby, Pete Keanie, Scott Makepeace, Dan Collier, Dan Swain, Herbie Stupple, George Mills, Cam Setter, Olly Mulberry, Tom Putt, Seta Raumatica, Javiah Pohe, John Dawe, Josh Skelcey, Alex Ducker, Dan Powell and Connor Eastgate."

Some great news. Also very pleased with the weekly updates.

I wonder which have signed and which are in "advanced talks".

Sam Hollingsworth Statbunker - ex Roth 9/10?

Gen buzz?

Obviously a slowly maturing player!!

Actually, according to the Moseley site Sam was 19 in April 2017, which (if my maths are right) makes him 22 or possibly 23.

Sam Morley to Esher:

Twitter

(He's just finished at Exe Uni.) With a bunch of OEs according to the rumour mill. Maybe we'll be seeing them back in Nat 1 before too long...

And a deal for L Scottish to play their 1st XV matches there from 2021:

Esher Rugby

Not sure what's driving that. Richmond getting choosy about who cuts up their hallowed turf, perhaps?

Agree. A pity.

It seems an odd "drop down" from being a joint registered Premiership/L1 player to being at a L2S level. Esher were mid table in 2019/20.

I guess personal factors are involved here.

Updated the spiel at the top. Listed a lot of players as 'Unconfirmed resigning' as Max's comments in his update 9 wasn't fully committed.

Max's last update suggested a couple more new faces to join us. Assuming Sam Hollingsworth as one, I think there may be need for at least one, potentially two, props having lost four from the squad.

Don't forget the Magic Hyphen, Igwok! ("re-signing")

I wasn't sure what to expect until I checked the table above...

We can't take anything for granted, but surely there will be a new batch of Exe Academy youngsters looking for game time next year?

The RFU have stated that the new season WILL NOT start in September.

The start date is uncertain and seems some way away.
