Michael Vaughan's knee is again causing him problems after he suffered increased pain whilst playing for Yorkshire against Sussex in the County Championship. Although Yorkshire are playing down the injury things do not look good for the England captain.

Michael Vaughan faces more time out of the game after his knee injury came back to plague him whilst playing against Sussex. He faces a possible fourth knee operation which would undoubtedly rule him out for the remainder of the English season and would surely jeopardise his chances of leading England's defence of the Ashes this winter.

"There's no point Michael playing for England if he's not fit," David Graveney, the chairman of England's selectors told the Evening Standard after speaking to Vaughan. "The last thing he should feel is that there's any added pressure on him to come back because the team are not doing very well."
