Kluivert Released

Newcastle United have released Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert after just one year at the club.

Kluivert has only managed 6 goals in 15 Premiership starts and many substitute appearances and failed to establish himself as a first team regular.

 

Kluivert did have some good spells with the Magpies, most notably putting some good performances on in Europe.

 

But the Dutchman’s large wage is seen to be too high for the standard of football he is providing Tyneside with.

 

The Holland-international, who is expected to return to playing in Spain, had revealed he would leave the club and Newcastle have finally confirmed it by releasing him.
